Five Arrested in Coaching Center Drowning Case

Five individuals, including the co-owners of a coaching center and a car driver, were arrested after three civil service aspirants drowned in a basement due to flooding. The accused have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days, with their bail pleas set to be heard on Tuesday.

Five individuals have been arrested in connection with a tragic incident in which three civil service aspirants drowned at the basement of a coaching center in Rajinder Nagar. The accused have been identified as Tejinder Singh, Parvinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, Sarabjeet Singh, co-owners of the basement, and Manuj Kathuria, a car driver.

Judicial Magistrate Vinod Kumar ordered that the accused be held in judicial custody until August 12. Their bail pleas will be considered on Tuesday.

Kathuria, whose SUV drove through the flooded street causing water to inundate the basement, was among those presented in court. His lawyer argued for immediate bail, citing that the arrest was illegal and that Kathuria had no knowledge or intention of causing harm. The court requested written submissions for the bail application.
