Israeli Strike Targets Senior Hezbollah Commander in Beirut

Lebanon's Hezbollah stated early Wednesday that its top commander, Fuad Shukr, was present in the building in southern Beirut that was targeted by an Israeli strike. However, they did not confirm his status.

Late on Tuesday, Israel's military announced that they had killed Shukr, identifying him as Hezbollah's highest-ranking commander. They accused him of orchestrating a weekend attack in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which resulted in the deaths of a dozen youths.

Hezbollah has denied any involvement in the weekend attack.
