Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday announced a solatium of Rs 3 lakh to the family of a Nilgiris district worker who died in a landslide in Kerala.

Stalin expressed deep sorrow over the death of 52-year-old M Kalyanakumar, who was from a village in Pandalur taluk and working in Chooralmala, Wayanad. He conveyed his condolences and directed officials to provide financial assistance to Kalyanakumar's kin.

This announcement comes after a similar aid was provided on July 30 to the family of another worker, Kalidas (34), from Nilgiris district, who also lost his life in landslides while working in Mudakkai, Wayanad. So far, two workers from Tamil Nadu have died in these tragic landslides in Kerala.
