The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned B S Shiju, Managing Director of Jaihind TV, to record his statement in the disproportionate assets case involving Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.

The CBI issued a fresh notice on July 19 seeking details of investments by Shivakumar, leading to Shiju's appearance before the agency on Tuesday. Shiju contended that all transactions were legal and provided necessary documents.

The case, registered by the CBI in 2020, alleges Shivakumar accumulated assets worth Rs 74 crore between 2013 and 2018, which are disproportionate to his known income.
