Senior Hezbollah Commander Found Dead After Israeli Strike

The body of senior Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr was uncovered amid the debris of a building in Beirut's southern suburbs on Wednesday, one day after an Israeli strike, according to two Lebanese security sources.

Hezbollah initially stated Shukr had been inside the building targeted by Israel but did not confirm his fate. However, Israel declared on Tuesday night that their forces had killed Shukr, identified as Hezbollah's top commander behind a recent attack in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

A regional senior security source confirmed Shukr succumbed to his injuries. Medical and security sources reported that at least two women and two children also perished in the strike. Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas, issued a statement condemning Israel's attack on a residential building in Beirut's southern suburbs but still awaited final word on Shukr’s exact fate.
