The Border Security Force Tripura frontier has ramped up its vigilance and coordination with the Border Guards of Bangladesh (BGB) in response to the recent turmoil in Bangladesh, according to a senior BSF official.
Bangladesh has experienced violent clashes primarily involving student protesters demanding the abolition of a controversial quota system. This unrest has led to the BSF monitoring the situation closely and holding multiple meetings with BGB at various levels.
The official stated that joint patrols have increased, with over 100 operations conducted in July alone. These efforts have strengthened mutual trust, which was evident in the safe return of over 900 students through the Tripura Border. The BSF has also enhanced surveillance and fortified its troops along vulnerable areas to curb illegal activities.
