Hezbollah Vows Retaliation Over Commander’s Death

Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Lebanese Hezbollah, vowed retribution for Israel’s recent killing of top military commander Fuad Shukr. The Israeli strike, which also killed other individuals, has intensified tensions and threatens to escalate into a larger regional conflict. Nasrallah insisted that Hezbollah's response is inevitable despite external requests for restraint.

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Lebanese Hezbollah, vowed on Thursday to retaliate against Israel for the killing of the group's top military commander, Fuad Shukr, in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut. The strike also resulted in the deaths of an Iranian military advisor and five civilians, further escalating the ongoing conflict.

Nasrallah, addressing the nation in a televised speech, stated that the conflict has now 'entered a new phase' and accused Israel of crossing 'red lines.' He disclosed that unnamed countries had urged Hezbollah to respond 'acceptably' or not at all, but emphasized that a response was 'unavoidable.'

Hezbollah's operations were temporarily paused in mourning for the victims but are set to resume. Nasrallah warned that retaliation would come, whether 'spread out or simultaneous.' He also called for efforts towards a Gaza ceasefire to prevent further regional destabilization.
