Akash Jadon, wanted for the murder of Anita Gupta, was apprehended in Gwalior after a brief shootout with the police. Jadon sustained injuries and is currently hospitalized. He will be interrogated once he recovers. His accomplice, Shubam Jadon, was earlier arrested for the same crime.

Akash Jadon, a suspect in the murder of Anita Gupta, was apprehended following a brief shootout with the police in Gwalior's Gwalior district on Friday, confirmed a senior official.

Injured in the early morning exchange of fire, Jadon is now hospitalized at the government medical college and hospital. Gwalior Superintendent of Police Dharmaveer Singh noted the capture was facilitated by a tip-off which led police to track Jadon on Shivpuri Link Road in the Kampoo area.

Despite the suspect's attempts to escape, which included a firefight near a railway track, Jadon was subdued by police in the retaliatory action. His interrogation will commence post-recovery. Anita Gupta's murder case, dating back to July 29, saw another suspect, Shubam Jadon, arrested earlier, pointing to the involvement of both Akash and Shubam Jadon in the crime.
