PTI Leader Shot Dead in Lahore Outside Mosque
Dr Shahid Saddique Khan, a prominent member of Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, was shot dead in Lahore while leaving a mosque. The incident involved four unidentified men who fled the scene. Lahore police have launched an investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.
In a shocking incident, Dr Shahid Saddique Khan, a senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, was fatally shot in Lahore on Friday. The attack occurred as he was exiting a mosque after Friday prayers.
Witnesses reported that four unidentified men, riding on two motorcycles, opened fire on Dr Khan and then fled the scene. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Lahore police spokesperson confirmed the shooting and stated that a special team has been formed to investigate the matter. Punjab police chief Dr Usman Anwar has emphasized the need for a swift arrest of the culprits. Tensions between PTI and the establishment have remained high since the May 9, 2023 riots.
