Kalyan Dombivali Civic Official Suspended Amid Extortion Scandal
A driver in the Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation's solid waste management department, Vinod Manohar Lakeshree, has been suspended following allegations of extortion. He is accused of extorting Rs 41 lakh and five flats from a developer in exchange for assistance in case withdrawals. Lakeshree, along with three others, is currently absconding.

Vinod Manohar Lakeshree, a driver with the Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation's solid waste management department, has been suspended amid allegations of extortion.
Lakeshree is accused of extorting Rs 41 lakh and five flats from a developer in return for help in retracting cases against the latter. The case involves three others and was registered at Vishnunagar police station on Tuesday.
Lakeshree is currently absconding, with efforts underway to apprehend him. KDMC commissioner Indurani Jakhad has suspended Lakeshree under Rule 4(1) of Maharashtra Civil Service and Disciplinary Rules 1979.
