Ukraine Strikes Russian Military Airfield and Fuel Depots
Ukraine's military conducted overnight attacks on Russia's Morozovsk airfield and multiple fuel storage facilities in three regions. The strikes targeted ammunition depots and led to fires at oil tanks. Ukrainian President Zelenskiy emphasized the need for joint security measures with Western partners and has urged for long-range attack permissions.
Ukraine's military announced a series of overnight strikes targeting Russia's Morozovsk airfield and various fuel storage sites across three regions. The assault included an ammunition depot storing guided aerial bombs, among other military equipment.
'Russian combat aviation must be destroyed wherever it is, by all effective means. It is also quite fair to strike at Russian airfields. And we need this joint solution with our partners - a security solution,' Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated on Telegram.
Zelenskiy has persistently urged Western allies to authorize the use of long-range weapons against Russian targets. He highlighted that over 600 guided bombs were used by Russian forces to attack Ukraine last week. The recent attacks have set fire to at least two oil tanks in the Belgorod, Kursk, and Rostov regions, disrupting Russian logistics and economy. Drones were reported to have caused further fires at a fuel depot in Rostov's Kamensky district.
