France Advises Citizens to Exit Iran and Lebanon Amid Middle East Tensions

France has advised its citizens in Iran and Lebanon to exit the countries owing to potential military escalation threats in the Middle East, the foreign ministry declared on Sunday through separate travel advisories.

The French foreign ministry recommended that citizens in Iran temporarily leave due to the risk of airspace closure. Additionally, citizens in Lebanon, especially those on short visits, were encouraged to utilize available commercial flights to exit the country.

In a related move, Air France and its affiliate Transavia extended their flight suspensions between Paris and Beirut until at least August 6. This follows the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and the killing of Hezbollah’s military commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut by Israeli forces, which have significantly heightened regional tensions.

French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed their mutual concern over the escalating tensions in a phone call on Saturday.
