Goa Legislative Assembly to Introduce ST Reservation
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced a bill in the Lok Sabha to reserve seats for Scheduled Tribes (ST) in the Goa Legislative Assembly. Currently, the ST community lacks reserved seats. The bill, named Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2024, aims to notify the ST population in Goa.

On Monday, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal presented a bill in the Lok Sabha aimed at reserving seats for Scheduled Tribes (ST) in the Goa Legislative Assembly.
Presently, the Scheduled Tribe community does not have any reserved seats in Goa's state assembly.
The bill, formally titled the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2024, seeks to empower the census commissioner to officially notify the population of STs in Goa.
