Goa Speaker Pledges Aid for Kerala Landslide Victims

Goa Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar announced his charitable foundation's commitment to building houses for people affected by recent landslides in Wayanad, Kerala. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant affirmed Goa's readiness to assist Kerala, highlighting the death toll of 222. The initiative will involve 200 volunteers and the Shram Dham concept.

Goa Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar on Monday declared that his charitable foundation will construct houses for those impacted by the recent landslides in Kerala's Wayanad. This statement was made during a session in the assembly.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant indicated that his administration is prepared to offer every necessary support to Kerala. 'We are yet to get any response from Kerala, but we are ready to help them with all the essentials,' he remarked in the House.

The devastating landslides last week have claimed 222 lives, according to the Kerala government. Tawadkar's Balaram Charitable Trust will collaborate with 200 volunteers to implement the Shram Dham concept in building homes. Tawadkar encouraged assembly members to provide financial contributions for this social service initiative. Previously, the Shram Dham concept was used in Goa's Canacona taluka to aid needy families through crowdfunding.
