Son of Congress MLA Arrested in Assam Oil Theft Racket

Rezaul Huda Faraji, the son of Congress MLA Nurul Huda, was arrested in Assam's Nagaon district for his alleged involvement in an oil theft racket, a police officer reported Monday. Faraji surrendered to authorities on Sunday night following a sustained search operation.
Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rupjyoti Dutta disclosed that an oil theft racket was recently busted in the district, leading to five initial arrests and the seizure of cash, vehicles, and other items. Investigations revealed a financial link between the racket and Faraji, prompting the police search.
After days of evading arrest, Faraji surrendered before the Kaliabor police. The same operation also resulted in the arrest of the gram pradhan of Khalihanari village, raising the total number of arrests in the case to seven.
