Bihar has issued an alert as tensions rise in neighboring Bangladesh, according to top police official J S Gangwar.
The alert is focused on districts close to Bangladesh, with state police coordinating with central paramilitary forces to maintain vigilance.
Although Bihar does not share a direct border with Bangladesh, its porous boundary with Nepal and densely populated areas in northeastern districts, known as 'Seemanchal', make it vulnerable to illegal immigration via West Bengal, especially amidst the political turmoil in Bangladesh following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation.
