Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud expressed visible frustration on Friday when a lawyer persistently demanded an early hearing date for a case involving the disqualification of Shiv Sena MLAs. The CJI warned the lawyer that the workload of the court would make him 'run for his life.'

A bench including Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra was in session to schedule hearings for two significant political disputes in Maharashtra. The disputes involved the Uddhav Thackeray faction challenging the declaration of the Eknath Shinde-led bloc as the legitimate Shiv Sena and the Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP contesting Narwekar's decision to recognize the Ajit Pawar-led group as the real NCP.

The court granted Ajit Pawar's faction and its 40 MLAs a ten-day window to file their response. The pleas will be addressed subsequently. In a charged moment, the CJI rebuked a lawyer pushing for an early date, emphasizing the intense workload the court faces.
