Surgeon Vice Admiral Anupam Kapur has officially assumed the role of Director General Hospital Services (Armed Forces) at the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services office. Vice Admiral Kapur, who was commissioned into the Indian Navy on June 27, 1987, brings a wealth of experience to his new position.

Before his appointment as DGHS (Armed Forces), Vice Admiral Kapur served as the Command Medical Officer of the Western Naval Command. He has also led key Indian Navy hospitals, including INHS Asvini and INHS Sanjivani.

An esteemed alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, Vice Admiral Kapur specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has furthered his expertise with a specialization in Gynecological Endoscopy. His distinguished service has been recognized with the Nao Sena Medal and multiple commendations from the Chief of the Naval Staff and the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (West).

As DGHS (Armed Forces), Vice Admiral Kapur will oversee the medical services for the Indian Armed Forces, continuing to build on his legacy of excellence and leadership in military healthcare.
