Heroic Police Constable Doddalingaiah Nabs Notorious Chain Snatcher

Police Constable Doddalingaiah from Koratagere station in Tumakuru earned accolades for arresting chain snatcher Manjesh Achari. The incident, caught on CCTV, occurred on August 6 at Sadashivanagar traffic junction in Bengaluru. Constable Doddalingaiah intercepted and apprehended the fleeing thief, who is wanted in multiple cases across regions.

In a display of commendable bravery, Police Constable Doddalingaiah of Koratagere police station in Tumakuru has earned widespread praise for his role in apprehending a notorious chain snatcher.

The incident occurred on August 6, with details emerging on Thursday. Thanks to CCTV footage, Superintendent of Police Ashok K V shared the courageous act of Doddalingaiah on social media platform X.

The thief, identified as Manjesh Achari from Bengaluru, was attempting to escape on his bike when Constable Doddalingaiah risked his life to stop him at Sadashivanagar traffic junction. Despite being dragged for 20 metres, he managed to control the thief. Traffic sub-inspector Nagamma and home guard Sridhar, along with help from local motorists, assisted in the detention. Achari has a long criminal record with numerous offenses across multiple police jurisdictions. The police department has announced it will honor Doddalingaiah for his steadfast dedication and bravery.
