Regional tensions have intensified following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, leader of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, in Tehran. This incident occurred a day after an Israeli strike in Beirut killed Fuad Shukr, a high-ranking military commander from the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
