28th CoCSSO to Focus on Data-Driven Decision Making and Strengthening State Statistical Systems

The conference's theme, "Use of Data for Decision Making – Strengthening State Statistical System," will guide discussions and exchanges on best practices in official statistics.

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) is set to host the 28th Conference of Central and State Statistical Organizations (CoCSSO) on August 12-13, 2024, at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, New Delhi.

The conference will be inaugurated by Shri Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for MoSPI, Planning, and Culture, on August 12, 2024.

This event will serve as a vital platform for enhancing coordination between Central and State Statistical agencies, aiming to boost the efficiency of the Indian Statistical System. The conference's theme, "Use of Data for Decision Making – Strengthening State Statistical System," will guide discussions and exchanges on best practices in official statistics.

During the conference, the publication 'Women and Men in India, 2023' will be released. The 28th CoCSSO is expected to play a crucial role in preparing Central Government Ministries, State Governments, and Union Territories to collaboratively strengthen the Indian Statistical System.

The conference will feature various breakout sessions focusing on data dissemination, capacity building, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and experience sharing in areas such as surveys, National Accounts, and Price Statistics. Distinguished attendees will include the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of MoSPI, the Chairman and members of the National Statistical Commission, the Chief Economic Adviser, and other notable dignitaries. Representatives from Central Government Ministries, State Governments, UN Agencies, the World Bank, and industry stakeholders will also participate.
