Austrian Authorities Foil Plot to Attack Taylor Swift Concert

Austrian authorities have thwarted an alleged plot to attack a Taylor Swift concert, detaining an 18-year-old Iraqi national and several other suspects in Vienna, Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said.

The Iraqi suspect, who had sworn allegiance to the Islamic State, was arrested along with a 19-year-old Austrian with North Macedonian roots, who has confessed to planning the attack among 20,000 fans at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium. Two additional Austrian youths were also detained.

Intelligence from the U.S. was crucial in uncovering the plot, allowing for preemptive action. Swift's next performance in London faces no current threats, according to British police.
