The primary suspect, an Austrian national aged 19, had shared a video online confessing to the plot. He had quit his job in July, telling others he "had big plans," and had been consuming and sharing Islamist propaganda. Authorities found bomb-making materials, counterfeit money, machetes, and blank ammunition at his residence.

The other suspects were detained following investigations linked to the main suspect. The shows, scheduled to take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, have now been cancelled as authorities continue their investigations.
