Tripura police have imposed a ban on agitations and rallies in the West Tripura district, including Agartala, to ensure law and order amid the ongoing turbulence in Bangladesh, according to an officer's Sunday statement.
Authorities have detained two individuals for disseminating provocative messages on social media to preempt unrest. The Tripura State Rifles (TSR) are conducting joint patrols with BSF troops along the border to prevent any infiltration attempts, as per Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Kumar's announcement.
Additional precautionary directives include a warning to WhatsApp group administrators about potential legal actions if any inflammatory messages are posted.
