Investigation Intensifies in RG Kar Hospital Trainee's Tragic Case

Junior doctors, interns, and staff at RG Kar Hospital, where a postgraduate trainee was allegedly raped and murdered, were questioned by Kolkata Police. The Head of Chest Medicine and a security guard were also summoned. About 25 individuals, including four doctors, are being investigated. The body was discovered on Friday.

Junior doctors, interns, and other staff on duty with the postgraduate trainee, who was allegedly raped and killed at state-run RG Kar Hospital, were called for questioning at Kolkata Police headquarters on Tuesday, officials reported.

The Head of the Department of Chest Medicine and a security guard from RG Kar Hospital were also summoned to Lalbazar as part of the ongoing investigation.

"Around 25 people have been called for questioning today, including four doctors who reportedly dined with the deceased woman on the night of the incident," a police officer stated.

On Monday, seven doctors were questioned concerning the case.

The woman postgraduate trainee's body was found on Friday morning in a seminar hall at RG Kar Hospital. A civic volunteer was arrested in connection with her alleged rape and murder on Saturday.
