Tragic Incident: Nine-Year-Old Drowns in Outer Delhi Pond

A nine-year-old boy has tragically died after drowning in a pond at Chhath Ghat, located near Najafgarh drain in outer Delhi, authorities reported on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on August 11 as the boy and another child, aged 10, were bathing in a pond filled with rainwater.

Official reports state that a PCR call was received about the missing boy, a class 5 student at MCD school Baprola. An FIR was registered at Ranhola police station, launching a search operation with the boy's relatives, but he remained missing. On August 12, the boy's body was discovered by family members and was later sent for postmortem at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital.

The initial investigation revealed no injuries on the body, and forensic experts, along with the crime team, examined the scene. CCTV footage confirmed the boys were last seen together near the boy's house before going to the Chhath Ghat. The 10-year-old went home after not finding his friend two hours later. The boy's body was handed over to his family post-postmortem.
