A 15-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by her maternal uncle in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district on Wednesday, according to a police official. The incident occurred in a village under Shahpura police station's jurisdiction and came to light when the girl didn't return home from school. Her family suspects that her maternal uncle is responsible.
Acting on the family's complaint, police have booked the girl's uncle, who resides in Damoh district, for abduction.
Both the girl's and her uncle's mobile phones are switched off, and police are investigating all potential angles to locate the girl.
