Hamirpur Police intercepted a vehicle transporting 180 bottles of illegal English liquor during a routine patrolling operation, officials announced on Thursday.
Chaman Lal, a resident of Doh Dakh village in Mandi district, was apprehended for transporting the contraband liquor without any legal documentation, according to Hamirpur Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh Thakur.
The police team intercepted the vehicle near Sukangwan village and discovered 15 cartons filled with liquor bottles. A case has been registered at the Bhoranj Police Station under relevant sections of the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act, with additional investigations currently underway, Thakur added.
