DRI Nabs Passengers with Rs 3.33 Crore Worth Gold Dust at Mumbai Airport
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested two passengers arriving from Abu Dhabi at Mumbai International Airport for smuggling 4.52 kg of gold dust hidden in wax form. The gold, valued at Rs 3.33 crore, was found concealed in tailor-made pockets of a jacket. Both individuals were apprehended under the Customs Act.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Saturday detained two passengers at Mumbai International Airport who arrived from Abu Dhabi, for allegedly carrying 4.52 kg of gold dust hidden in wax form, an official reported.
The seized gold's value is approximated at Rs 3.33 crore, according to the official.
Specific intelligence led to the detention of the duo after they crossed the Customs green channel, designated for passengers without dutiable goods. DRI officials discovered four packets of foreign-origin gold concealed in tailor-made pockets of a jacket worn by one passenger. These packets were handed over to him by another passenger in Abu Dhabi.
The duo faces charges under the relevant sections of the Customs Act, officials confirmed.
