Engineer's Tragic Murder: Arrest and Encounter Drama

The dramatic confrontation with assistant engineer Amit Kumar and his aide Pradeep unfolded early Sunday, resulting in both men sustaining gunshot wounds to their legs during a police shootout.

Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Chandra confirmed the details, stating that the accused attempted to escape but were apprehended after retaliatory firing. Both were rushed to a hospital for immediate medical attention.

According to authorities, the suspects were natives of Bihar planning to flee after allegedly killing water department executive engineer Santosh Kumar, aged 40, following a dispute. The fatal incident occurred at Kumar's rented residence in Vinobapuri on Saturday.

Police reports indicated that Sandeep, Kumar's driver, had gone out to get food and on his return found the engineer being attacked. Despite threats from the assailants, Sandeep managed to alert neighbors and security, who quickly brought Kumar to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
