For the fourth consecutive day on Monday, CBI officers questioned Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, in relation to the rape and murder investigation of a trainee doctor.
Ghosh arrived at the CBI's office at CGO Complex on Monday morning. Officials have been keen to understand his role and why he made the deceased doctor's parents wait for nearly three hours after the incident.
Investigators are also scrutinizing the orders given for the renovation of rooms near the seminar hall where the body was found. Ghosh has faced several hours of questioning over the past three days, with officers examining his call and WhatsApp chat lists.
Ghosh, an orthopaedic doctor, resigned from his position two days after the woman's body was discovered on August 9, amid fears of being attacked. His lawyer has sought protection from the Calcutta High Court. The body, found in a seminar room at the college, led to the arrest of a civic volunteer the following day.
