The prime suspect in the tragic case of a minor girl's murder in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district has been apprehended by the special investigation team of the police on Monday, according to officials.

Authorities confirmed that the arrest occurred in Araria district.

The special investigation team has also detained three additional individuals in connection with the crime, bringing the total number of arrests to five. The victim, a 14-year-old Dalit girl, was found mutilated in Paru village a day after she was reported missing on August 11. Preliminary investigations have indicated that the prime suspect had been in contact with the girl for the last three years, Senior Superintendent of Police (Muzaffarpur) Rakesh Kumar stated to the press.
