Assam DGP Gyanendra Pratap Singh revealed on Tuesday that two high-profile cases related to ULFA(I)'s suspected IED-planting will be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for further probe.

In a coordinated effort to counteract the potential threats, Assam Police have set up multiple Special Investigation Teams (SITs) across 10 districts where suspected bomb-like substances were discovered. Speaking to reporters, Singh expressed confidence that the combined efforts of Assam Police and NIA would soon lead to the apprehension of all individuals involved.

Four suspects have already been detained from Sivasagar district in connection with the case. Singh highlighted the significant strides made in the investigation process, underscoring that the SITs, managed by high-ranking officials, are rigorously pursuing leads.
