The autopsy, conducted on the evening of August 9, reported multiple injuries on the victim's body, including 16 external and nine internal wounds. Notably, there was medical evidence of forceful penetration, suggesting sexual assault.
The case, initially under the Kolkata Police's jurisdiction, has now been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following a directive from the Calcutta High Court, indicating the potential involvement of multiple individuals in the crime.
