Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Friday accused Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot of succumbing to BJP pressure by sending back 15 Bills. Addressing reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence, Shivakumar questioned the necessity of democratic governments if decisions are made to favor a single party.

Shivakumar also condemned the Governor's recent sanction for the prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with a site allotment 'scam'. The Congress party has rallied behind Siddaramaiah, denouncing the Governor's actions as politically motivated.

Highlighting the Congress party's electoral victory with 136 out of 224 Assembly seats, Shivakumar alleged attempts by the BJP and JD(S) to destabilize the legitimately elected government. Despite efforts to bring down the administration, he vowed that the Congress would take necessary measures to counter such moves.
