A five-year-old boy studying at a madrasa in northeast Delhi's Dayalpur died under mysterious circumstances, police reported on Saturday.
The boy's body displayed blisters on the neck, abdomen, and groin area. At 9:52 pm on Friday, police received a call about the boy’s death at Brijpuri madrasa. His mother, informed earlier that he was sick, took him to a private hospital, where he was declared dead.
The distraught mother returned to the madrasa with her son's body, prompting a large crowd to gather and demand action against the madrasa administration. Police arrived, moved the body to the GTB Hospital mortuary, and promised a thorough investigation, leading the crowd to disperse.
The boy had been studying at the madrasa for five months, while his father resides in Uttar Pradesh and visits Delhi monthly. Preliminary examination revealed multiple blisters on the boy's body. More information is expected following a postmortem, and the investigation continues.
