In a significant legal development, a Goa court on Monday revoked the bail of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state unit chief Amit Palekar, involved in a fatal 2023 Banastarim accident.
The incident, which occurred on August 6, 2023, resulted in three deaths after a speeding Mercedes car hit several vehicles. Palekar was arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence and attempting to present a decoy driver to shield the main accused, Paresh Sawardekar.
The cancelation, ordered by Judge Apurva Nagvekar, came after it was revealed that Palekar traveled to multiple countries without court approval, violating the bail agreement conditions.
