A tragic incident occurred in Alipur, outer north Delhi, where a 5-year-old girl drowned in an open drain while playing with her siblings. The local police have booked civic authority officials in connection with the case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section 106 for causing death by negligence.

The incident took place on Saturday around 4 pm in the Akbarpur Majra area, where the young girl was visiting her father, who was working in a nearby agricultural field. Investigation revealed that the girl fell into the drain because it was left open.

Reacting to the tragedy, the Aam Aadmi Party released a statement expressing their condolences to the grieving family and urging strict action against those found guilty. They also questioned whether the police had filed a case against the NDMC for two previous deaths related to the recent rains.
