Tragic Wall Collapse Claims Lives in Chhattisgarh

A 55-year-old woman and her two granddaughters were killed when a wall of their kutcha house collapsed in Surajpur district, Chhattisgarh. The incident occurred due to weakened walls from monsoon rains. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the trio was declared dead. An investigation is underway.

A tragic incident claimed three lives in Chhattisgarh's Surajpur district after a kutcha house wall collapsed, authorities reported on Tuesday.

The victims, identified as 55-year-old Dhanmatia Das and her granddaughters, Bijli (3) and Suhani (2), died when the weakened wall caved in on them on Monday evening in Kartama village.

Local police said preliminary information indicates that monsoon rains had compromised the structural integrity of the wall. Efforts to save the trio by shifting them to the Medical College Hospital in Ambikapur were in vain, as doctors declared them deceased. Investigations continue as an accidental death report has been filed.
