Tragic Mishap in Constable Recruitment Exam: Three Dead, Scores Faint
Three aspirants for a constable recruitment exam in Palamu have died after fainting during a physical test. In a tragic turn of events, three aspirants undergoing a physical test for a constable recruitment exam in Palamu have died, police reported on Friday.
Two of the candidates passed away during treatment at Medinirai Medical College and Hospital in Medininagar, while one succumbed at RIMS, Ranchi, according to Sub-Divisional Police Officer Manibhusan Prasad.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deaths resulted from breathlessness, and suspicions have been raised about the possible use of sedatives to increase stamina, stated Dr. R K Ranjan, Superintendent of the hospital. An exact cause of death is still under examination.
The deceased have been identified as Amresh Kumar (20), Arun Kumar (25), and Pradip Kumar (25). Around 100 other candidates also fainted during the physical test, which involved running.
Despite the incident, officials confirmed that the recruitment process will continue until September 9. Authorities have decided to reschedule the physical tests to start at 4:30 am instead of 9:00 am. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has ordered immediate action on the matter.
