Cyclist and School Teacher Arrested in Jewellery Store Extortion Shooting

A former national-level cyclist and a school teacher are among four individuals arrested for a shooting incident at a jewellery store in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi, as part of an extortion bid, according to police.
The event took place on August 24, when two bike-borne men fired multiple rounds at the showroom's boundary wall before leaving a note demanding Rs 1 crore in protection money. The note also contained the names of four gangsters: Neeraj Bawana, Naveen Bali, Bambiha, and Bhola.
A dedicated team from the Special Cell of the police zeroed in on and arrested two suspects, Nikki Bidhudi and Hemant, who revealed during interrogation that they, along with their gang members, conspired to demand extortion money. Subsequent arrests included Aakash, the main shooter, and Harender, the key conspirator.
