Massive Cryptocurrency Scam Shakes Himachal Pradesh
Twenty cases and 89 arrests have emerged in a Rs 2,000 crore cryptocurrency scam, as stated by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Since 2018, scammers have duped victims, with threats silencing many until its revelation in 2022. Rs 11.36 lakh has been refunded to six victims so far.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that twenty cases and 89 arrests have been made in a Rs 2,000 crore cryptocurrency scam, revealing the information to the assembly on Thursday.
Responding to Congress MLA Kewal Singh Pathania's inquiry, Sukhu disclosed that Rs 11.36 lakh has been refunded to six victims.
The scam, which began in 2018 but surfaced in 2022, threatened investors to remain quiet or lose their money. The fraudsters promised substantial returns in a short period, attracting a diverse group of investors, including police personnel.
