Tragedy Strikes Georgia High School: Teen Shooter and Father Face Justice
Colt Gray, a 14-year-old, made his first court appearance on Friday, facing murder charges in a high school shooting that killed four and injured nine. His father, Colin Gray, also appeared in court, facing charges for enabling his son to obtain the weapon used. This tragic event has reignited national debates on gun control.
Suspected Georgia high-school shooter Colt Gray, 14, made his initial court appearance on Friday, facing multiple murder charges following Wednesday's deadly rampage, which left four dead and nine injured, according to authorities.
Gray, who is being held without bond, appeared before Barrow County Superior Court Judge Currie Mingledorff and was informed he could face life imprisonment if convicted. Initially, the judge mentioned the death penalty but later corrected himself, noting Gray's age makes him ineligible for capital punishment.
Colt's father, Colin Gray, 54, also appeared before the same judge, charged with enabling his son to acquire the rifle used during the attack. Both are facing severe legal consequences, with Colin potentially facing up to 180 years in prison. The incident has once again ignited discussions on gun control and school safety in the U.S.
