Kota city police have made a significant breakthrough by arresting Akhilesh Kumar Singh, a key figure in the alleged Delhi Police recruitment exam scam. Singh had been evading authorities for two years.

Originally from Jamui district in Bihar and currently residing in Delhi's Rohini, Akhilesh was taken into custody from Haryana's Jind district on Saturday, according to Kota City SP Amrita Duhan. He was wanted in another case involving forged documents as well.

In 2020, Akhilesh rented premises from the Om Kothari Foundation in Kota to set up an online examination center. Along with an accomplice, Himanshu Rathore, he allegedly forged signatures to create the necessary documents, enabling them to conduct the recruitment exam fraudulently. The scam came to light in 2022, revealing that candidates' computers at the Kota center were connected to gang members in Delhi who solved the papers remotely. Numerous arrests have already been made by the Delhi Police.
