China and Norway Foster Green Energy Cooperation Amid Global Shifts
During Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere's visit to Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed willingness to enhance cooperation between China and Norway, especially in green energy and environmental protection. The leaders also discussed international issues such as the Ukraine crisis, climate policies, and business ethics.
China is keen to collaborate with Norway to enhance 'friendly' cooperation, particularly in green energy, President Xi Jinping conveyed to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere during his visit to Beijing on Monday.
President Xi emphasized areas like environmental protection, energy transition, shipping, agricultural products, fishery products, and electric vehicles as potential fields for expanded cooperation, as reported by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV. On the Ukraine crisis, Xi expressed hope that all parties would work towards a political resolution through dialogue.
'The world's unprecedented changes are accelerating, testing whether the international community can make the right choice. China will continue on the path of peaceful development,' Xi remarked. Norwegian PM Stoere mentioned that their discussions encompassed climate policies, sustainable development, business, and human rights.
'What China is doing is of significant importance for the global green transition,' Stoere stated.
