Police in the Philippines announced on Wednesday that more individuals have come forward alleging sexual abuse by celebrity pastor Apollo Quiboloy, revealing a concerning pattern of misconduct by the self-proclaimed 'Appointed Son of God'. Quiboloy, currently facing a slew of charges in both the Philippines and the United States, including sex trafficking, money laundering, and child abuse, was arrested on Sunday. The arrest followed a weeks-long investigation involving over 2,000 security personnel at his church's expansive 30-hectare compound.

Quiboloy, who has crafted an image as a charismatic spiritual leader with supposed divine powers, possesses millions of followers, a lavish lifestyle, and strong connections within the Philippine political elite. 'These courageous victims have spoken up, revealing their harrowing experiences. The abuse they endured shows an alarming pattern of manipulation and exploitation,' stated Philippine police chief General Francisco Marbil.

The allegations include abuse of girls as young as 12, who were part of an 'inner-circle' within Quiboloy's church, essential in uncovering the full extent of the alleged crimes. The pastor denies any wrongdoing, and his legal representatives have not responded to requests for comment. The Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States lists Quiboloy among its most wanted for running a sex-trafficking operation that inflicted physical abuse and threatened young victims with 'eternal damnation'.
