In an audacious heist, five individuals dressed as transgenders allegedly made off with eight tolas of gold worth Rs 2.40 lakh from a residence in Kalyan, located in Thane district. The incident, reported by a police official, took place on September 8 during Ganpati festivities.

According to the Khadakpada police station official, the imposters approached the house under the guise of seeking donations for the celebrations and subsequently walked away with a bag containing the gold. 'They were dressed as transgenders,' the official confirmed.
