Shinde, detained since August 17, was being escorted from Taloja jail for further investigation. During the transfer, he snatched a policeman's gun and opened fire on an assistant inspector.
In a swift reaction, law enforcement fired back, injuring Shinde. The initial abuse allegations stemmed from an incident on August 12 in the school's toilet.
