Trader's Tragic End Stirs Protests in Aonla Town

A bullion trader in Aonla town was fatally shot while trying to thwart a robbery, sparking significant protests from the trading community. Shrikant Patil, who intervened in the attempted break-in at Salik Ram Maurya's house, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, police reported.
With the township's markets shuttered in protest, traders voiced frustrations over the lack of arrests four days post-incident. Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya has stated that four teams are now dedicated to the investigation, utilizing CCTV footage and surveillance to identify suspects.
The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Dharampal Singh's constituency. Singh visited the area, ensuring that the culprits would be apprehended and promising consequences for any police negligence. Subsequently, the market began to reopen partially.
