An Israeli airstrike in Lebanon has resulted in the deaths of 23 Syrian workers and injuries to eight others, as reported by Lebanon's state-run news agency.

The deadly strike took place late Wednesday near Baalbek, an ancient city in Lebanon's eastern Bekaa Valley, which is situated along the Syrian border.

According to Ali Kassas, the mayor of Younine village, the bodies of 23 Syrian citizens were extracted from the debris, while four Syrians and four Lebanese sustained injuries.
